The Whispers of Dust

According to the legend it was an enchanted town called Dusk. It was a seemingly beautiful place. It was a little touristic town with gorgeous beaches with white sands, lakes ,places to go, cover of lights and even they have hotels to stay.  The people of town had no idea of that dark and terrifying legend. 

But, in 1900 the island was not a paradise; it was a plantation colony, isolated from the outside world, with no white sand beaches . In the late 1900s there was a rich man that built the first hotel called Victory  Hotel, which was the most expensive hotel in the island. To open it, December 31st he organized a big party with all the high society. The servants were prisoners and were forced to work under inhuman conditions, without the vital elements to survive. One of the servants, a native woman called Elle, that had lived surrounded by witches , cursed the island by spilling her tears in a well just before midnight . To 12.00 am , an strange fog covered all the town. In the morning there no one left and all the island was covered with dust. ( Name that was given to the island few years later)  The hotel was completely empty. The carriages were there in the entrance of that dusty and dirty hotel and the lunch were still in the table.  The State of the Nation closed the island and it was declared under a curse. Few years later a millionaire man bought the island because he wanted to build many hotels. He started to rebuilt the island without knowing the horrible sciences that had been lived in that isle. Few months later he finished one of them .It was a beautiful hotel with 4 floors, 300 rooms, the roof was covered by outstanding lamps with colourful lights. There were a pool with transparent water where there is a bar inside of it. The isle officially was named Dust by the local people in the town. Years later by the 2000s the whole island was full of luxury resorts, prestigious shops and delicious restaurants. As time went by,  people started to visit because of the beauty of its beaches and they began  booking at the hotels. 

In the resort there was a cursed room which was room 13. In that room there were a couple with two kids. When the sun went down the temperature of the room started to low in an inexplicable way and the children started to talk to imaginary friends who  made them to dress like 1900s. Their parents started to fell very uncomfortable with the situation but they didn't pay attention to it because they were kids and normally kids have their own creative imagination. But as days passing by ,the mystery continues. One night the couple found out that their stuff had been swapped around without any logical explanation. They noticed that their kids had been hearing sounds during the midnight , asking them for help. They rapidly went to the reception to make a change of room, but all of them were booked. They didn't have another option and they decided to stay there. They assumed that it was just the result of very bad day at work and they were very tired. 

The next morning, an older woman booked in the hotel, but the receptionist noticed something very strange about her. The elder lady was wearing  old-fashioned cloth. She was wearing a dress, but it was not a common dress, it was a 90s vintage outfit, completely out of place. She had another name and another identity. The person who is in charge of the front desk, tried to find out the true identity of this women, but to his surprise she did not appear in the register , so he started to search but sadly he could not find anything, so he booked her in the hotel. While walking trough the hallways, she was expecting to find something familiar. Suddenly she stooped in the place where the cursed started, the well. She was the spirit of Ella, the women that had cast the curse, who returned to the hotel so the curse could be broken and she finally rest in peace, that is why the receptionist could not find her. 

One night the kids in the room 13 started to heard like whispering urging them to break the circle. The children did not know exactly what to do. This lead them, to a secret door inside the closet, where they found the diary of the woman and therefore the first key to break the curse. Room 13 was built exactly in the place that the lady had her tiny room and her diary was hidden behind the wall. When the children open the diary, they saw an old map, it was the map of the island in 1900s. In it she indicated the exact place were the well was located. The kids went to that place and when they were becoming closer they felt the fog and heard the laughter  of the 1900s party. Once they arrived, she appeared in the transparent water asking them to find a watch that she had buried next to the well, showing them the real hour when all started, and allowing them to watch all the injustice the rich man had committed against her. She told them that they had to unburied her bones, that were  under a big tree  near the hotel ,for her to rest in peace, and it had to be done at the exact hour she had cast the curse. At midnight the children moved with extreme stealth, walking on tiptoe to avoid waking their parents and discovering their risky plan. Finally they unburied the bones and the fog in the well disappear, restoring the peace and leaving the mystery behind.
